April Fools Day visit to the Theme Park Interesting capture inside the butterfly house. ![]() I find this creature most intriguing. I love the camouflage image of a snake head on the tips of its wings. This is one of the largest moths in the world found in Southeast Asia called the Atlas Moth. Here is a bit more on this clever fellow. |

wow, killer light on that first one Jimbo!
last contribution from me...i took my kids up to Hawk Hill in the Marin Headlands to watch the moon rise and it was a spectacular sight. Pretty tricky shooting this since a fast shutter is required to keep the moon from blurring, so I had to compromise ISO and aperture a bit to get a 2 sec shutter for the moon. This is a single exposure and I did nothing to make the moon red...it actually came up that way...must be the toxic air in Nevada...did i just say that? Moon Rise ![]() here is the pano version ![]() |

Turns out we have the flu, not a cold
![]() Yesterday evening my wife and I were both feeling pretty ill. But I picked up the camera anyways because sunsets like these happen very, very rarely. This was a good opportunity to play with my new Sigma 100-300mm F4 lens. But I probably would've been better off with a lighter lens... I was really tired after just a few shots. Also, I should've used a tripod, but I wasn't up to taking it out. Sunset Silhouette ![]() End Of Times ![]() Post processing: practically none. I straightened one of those pictures, but otherwise that's exactly what the camera captured. |
