Hi everyone. Its been a few years since I have been online much as my eye site was 20/100. Just could not see to do much of anything. Good news is my eyes are healing! Vision is improving :) Pulled out my cameras and batteries. Of course they wont hold a charge now. Was looking at off brand replacement batteries and noticed while the voltage is the same the mAh (what ever that is) is all over the place. Can anyone explain what that is and who it matters? I looked over my old batteries and I have everything from 1800mAh to 2200. Before ordering new batteries I need to see if it makes a difference. Thanks guys :) Hope to be back roosting soon. Think Ill post an oldie but goodie just for old times sake :)

Assuming you are talking about AA's I recommend Eneloop's. They are great for a lot of things and cameras in particular.

Ok, that said, RM! You're back!    :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: Great to see your new avatar as well. I've thought about you from time to time and glad to hear you eyes are getting better.

Huggs!

Tim so good to hear from you. I have so missed my friends here :) I have diabetic retinopathy which there is no cure for from my understanding. I get shots in my eyes every 2 months now but thank God and CBD oil from Hemp my eyes are healing! Still cant see small print or 11pt fonts but its getting there :)
I need new batteries for my camera, Cannon 5D. I researched and found that the higher the mAh the longer a battery will power a device. Very good to know! So I just ordered 4 2200mAh battery packs for my camera.
I so cant wait to get the new batteries and start shooting and sharing again! I do worry that I will see to edit accurately so will de need so me feed back from here. Gosh I have so missed this and all of you!

Hey, RM, good to see you're doing better.

You've figured out the short answer to your question. More mAh = more run time. For trivia's sake though, mAh stands for "milliamp hours." A battery with a higher mAh rating has jammed more cells into the battery chassis.

"Amp" is short for "Ampere," which a basic measure of electric current. A milliamp is a thousandth of an amp, which is useful to give more precise measurements for smaller amounts of power. Throw "hour" on there and it becomes a measure of power consumption over time.

More than that gets complicated, but fortunately we don't all need to understand electricity to use it.

Welcome back young lady! Glad to hear you're on the mend. Sounds like you figured out the answer to your own question but if unsure Leigh answered it perfectly.

Hopefully there wasn't a double meaning with that statement!

Good to here.
