@TP - That's an interesting something you have there. That one makes me pause and wonder what the bleep it is. I think that's a good thing actually. So what's up with your DA 35?

It's a 78 diopter lens that I just sprayed with lens cleaner resting next to a sink. :D Every time I cleaned the lens I felt like there was a shot there, so I'm glad you guys liked it.

My DA 35 won't focus to infinity anymore. FP's going to have a look at it, but I might need to get it replaced. I can still take close shots, but anything past about 6 feet won't focus.

DRN: Thanks! And nice shots, I'm partial to the first one myself, and I find the colours very intriguing.

Well that sucks! It was a great little lens.
I hope FP can fix it.
(BTW I have a lens wrench if you need to borrow it.)

Oh, forgot to add TP; I really like the wet lens pic.
Nice lines and OOF parts.
Sometimes simplicity is the best policy.
Well done.

:w00t: nothing like a pre-Christmas TW3 to get some Christmas cheer in the air. Great job on the Christmas lights BCB!

I've only got one shot to share so far this week, although I may come up with more. Taken using some of my newest Christmas toys, including a brand new super-stable and versatile carbon fiber tripod that my brother got me. Good thing too, because it was amazingly windy out there for this 30 second exposure:

Not much of a picture but the annual Christmas pic of the fur-kids; Ruby and Lucy.

Love the fur kids you have there. Nice.

Here are a few from my recent workshop on waves. Taken at several locations on the Pt. Reyes Seashore.

ah hah! I did come across another photo op today. A stark winter contrast to BCB's sunny beach scenes...

Santa is expected to arrive at our home any time now so I will make this very brief...

The quality and variety of the submissions gets better and better every time, making it so difficult to identify a single winner. Here are my favorite photos:

HONORABLE MENTION: Friendly Photon, Smoke On The Water

This is a very satisfying image in that it is comprised almost entirely of blue tones with stunning texture and a dramatic sky. The mist rising up from the water is a great effect of nature and is well captured. I am assuming this was shot as a pano which suggests there is a big detailed image that probably rocks hard. Bravo Frank!

3rd Place: MONGOOZ, Snowflake Landing

Wow, what a brilliantly captured natural event. The pure beauty of nature and luscious bokeh and mono conversion really make this one pop! Well done.

2nd Place: TIFFPIX [untitled]

This one is intriguing in its simplicity. Lovely composition and just the right balance of light/dark tones as well as a wonderful application of shallow depth of field give this abstract image a very graphic quality. The water droplets add detail and complexity. Very nice work, tiff!

WINNER: JIMBO, Posting Nature

OK, Mr bridesmaid, you really pulled it off this week! I loved several of your images this week including the very classic looking Mountain Stream. This image, however, really catches my attention with its golden hour lighting and shadows in the grass as well as the very interesting foreground, interesting sky and perfect water reflection and deep DOF. Congrats and over to you, Jimbo!

Well, somebody's been up for awhile ... can't imagine why.

Excellent choices all. Congratulations to Jimbo for Posting Nature the lighting is just wonderful in it.
Tiffany - your shot spoke to the photographers in us I believe, well done.
Mongooz - I agree with Mike on that shot. Excellent image.

And FP, that was a very interesting image as well. A really eye catcher. Nicely done.

Thanks for a great hosting job Mike and sorting out this lot can't have been easy on Christmas Eve. Well done and off to TW3.63.

I don't mean to detract from the conclusion of this but DRN asked me for this.

Congrats Jimbo, Mongooz and FP and everyone for a great week. Thank you Mike for another excellent job hosting as well, and everyone for your comments, I'm floored that I could take a shot that evoked that response.

On the DA 35 news FP figured out the problem with my lens so it works again! Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday!

I offered my 15 pound sledge hammer but FP refused. :o

You've produced many great images with that piece of glass.
Glad it's repaired.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
