Thanks to MikeSF for hosting another great week - there were a lot of great pictures and I'm humbled to have been picked to host the next challenge.

The rules arehere.

You can post up to 9 images, and since I've been experimenting heavily with creative alteration, I challenge you to come up with 3 images in your set that are altered in some way. This can be through creative use of on-camera items such as filters, or by going above your 'normal' effort when processing.

I think that about does it - have fun!
-Dan

ps. This one will have a strict timeline - I won't have any opportunity to extend, I will be offline starting May 3 and before that, I'll be packing and double-checking/packing again for a trip out West. For someone who's never been farther west than Pittsburgh, this is going to be one heck of a trip.

(hitting a ton of good spots - Grand Canyon, Zion, Arches, Glen Canyon, Antelope Canyon... many more the itinerary is a little too packed actually)

I went out saturday and sunday trying to get some fog photos at the bridge, but the fog was far too thick...so...in shadow of Mt. Tamalpais, found this lovely little lake at the mouth of the Cataract Falls (it was dark by the time we found the trailhead to the falls, so we turned back).

Old Rope

that last one is a leftover from the trip to the Delta on thursday evening.

That a Tammy 70-200 and as it's not weatherized I don't recommend that treatment...

Nice fog bokeh Mike. I was thinking about you guys out there in the fog last night as I watched it roll over my house. Nice save and really excellent images.

yep, the Tammy, which i use quite a bit for landscape shooting. I had all my lenses in my vest pockets up on that hill and they all got drenched in water. what can you do? It was not the friendliest of environments, and I never got a single pic of the bridge for all my trouble, lol.

Wow, so it's to be a landscape competition? I think I'll bow out now then. :D

Kidding, just that's some amazing work from all 3 of you Jimbo, Dan and Mike. Glad you're hosting Dan, you're really getting some amazing shots with that new filter.

Took a tour around Church St. this morning after the rain finally stopped. As far as something different, I will say I've been trying some more extensive PP since we did the competition, whether anyone else can tell? :meh:

All of these shots are with a purloined FA43mm Limited :theft:

I'd be afraid to take my lenses out in that kind of environment, however, if I could get the kind of shots you can.. well, that's a different story.
