Hi everyone. Welcome to TW3, episode 77.
Thanks to FPZ for hosting last week! Please review the usual rules www.friendlyphotozone.com/forum/52-TW3/1...s-or-TW3-%28Rules%29 and start sharing your images from the week. I encourage everyone to get outside and enjoy some summer activities while immortalizing them in on film or pixels. I don't have much of anything new to post up aside from my latest practice image from last night using my new O-GPS device to shoot some stars. I have found this to be a finicky little tool that requires some practice. Throw a big bright full moon in the mix and forget about it! It is getting better at each session: Starry Sky ![]() Digging into the archives of unposted pics, here is something showing the peculiar bokeh of the Helios 44. This is a row of vacuum tubes in one of my guitar pre-amplifiers. I had to open it up to change out a bad tube and thought i'd catch a photo. I expect Mongooz, Mr Pink, and any other of our resident electric musicians will appreciate the pic, lol. Totally Tubular ![]() OK, let's Rock n' Roll!! |

A week ago I went home to Revelstoke BC for my dads funeral. Got to say my good bys and take a few early shots. The first one is where he use to hang for morning coffee with his buddies. A few were here included my Uncle. Love the name of the coffee shop. JIM

Jimbo - that is a fantastic location with the stepped waterfall. I love how you placed the fern in the foreground, esp #1. great image! It reads like criss cross of foliage and water.

@jimbo - "Old Stories" is a touching tribute to your dad. This is well composed and i love that you included the street and curb too.
The giant mountain in the other two is quite fantastic. As mentioned before, i enjoyed the waterfalls and ferns. I also really like "Mossy Boulders" for the texture of the moss and light which gives them a glow. @DRN - yes i do have a strat or two around here somewhere. That flower jumps pops, both in color and in its bold composition. nice detail. I like the surfer shot and would bet it would have a classic look in a mono conversion as well. Having surfed a longboard on a couple of occasions, i have to respect the guy for carrying that thing from his car...in the wind...sheesh! @FPZ - always enjoy you car shots and nice framing on the first shot. Any car with a displacement beginning with the number "4" gets my respect. And i can only imagine the sound of that GTO Beaumont in the next pic. vroom! I like the low viewpoint and tight framing in all of these as they tend to direct the eye toward unique lines vs the more typical views. nicely done. |

A few more from the car show... I didn't get nearly as many keepers as tiffpix did, which seems to be the norm these days.
