Excellent shots everyone! Sorry I've been lax on commenting, crazy stuff going on at work. I haven't even had a chance to take out my new DA50mm! So here's a few from the fair a few weeks ago I just had time to PP before we had to take off on a road trip. With luck there will be photo ops there and I'll have some more next week.

There was a lot of distracting background in these, so they ended up as black and white. =)

some nice photos I see, though not as many as I'd expect.

BCB - love the lines theme, Light Line is of my taste especially.

Mike - that shuttle carrier, impressive. was that a showcase of some sort?

FP - cool angles on the cars. Showdown is pleasing to me.

Tiff - B&W!! I love it :-) children are adorable. at the most part...

I'll be posting later. see ya'll.

BCB - You never imagine that there are so many lines in our daily lives that can be conceived as art. I like 'Train Lines' as there are so many different lines in the image.

Tiffpix - I really like the B&W treatment you gave to 'Man & Machine' Like you said, it is a perfect way to eliminate unwanted distractions in the background. Nicely done.

Pablo - You always have such great street scenes from Jerusalem. I can only aspire to be as good as you. Love the shot with the mirror - brilliant!

Bah, where did the time go? I've had a crazy busy week, and today is the first time in 3 or 4 days I've actually been able to turn on the computer, and BAM I think "oh shoot I'm hosting a TW3 and I haven't been able to check in.

Not a lot of photos for the week - but great shots either way. You guys still have time to get more in. I'll be doing the judging Sunday morning it looks like that's the next break in the action for me.

Happy shooting!

Pablo: really liking #3, that is a very cool capture

Tim: loving the train lines especially

Mike: so did you set up hours ahead to get these shots? Excellent work.

FP: These may be your best car show photos yet, and that's saying something.

Pablo, I love it when you join us in TW3! These are great. I agree, the street shots are so amazing. The look and vibe of Jerusalem is so fascinating.

Thanks everyone for your submissions this week, there weren't as many as some weeks, but i'm not complaining, I've been short on time this weekend, and it makes my job a teeny bit easier. Here's the rundown:

BCB: Tim - your "lines" theme is going quite well by the looks of it. I love car light trails at night. But "Aliens landing" is my favorite. Simple and very cool.

FP: The car shots are very cool. The Bonneville grille shot was very nicely done, and "don't wake the tiger" gave me a good giggle. (I just saw "The Hangover" the other night.) Deep Gloss is my fav, I love those old trucks.

MikeSF: Love all the shots of the shuttle flyby. Container ship is really cool too, great skyline shot with an that ship as an interesting foreground element too.

Tiff: love the B&W too like Pablo said. Duet was the best of the bunch, IMHO.

Pablo: Great street photos, as usual. One of my favorites is #8, the block pathway shot. And that butterfly is just plain mean looking!

And the winner is:
Pablo, for #3, his street shot with the woman in the mirror. Nicely done, great shot and great vision to get that angle right in the mirror. Superb!

Thanks Dan!
I appreciate your work very much so it feels nice that you thumbed-up one of mine :-)

I took that photo about two weeks ago during day time with a Ricoh XR-P and Vivitar 28mm lens that works (to my surprise) with the Ricoh program mode (though I probably didn't use it for that one). The film was Ilford Pan 400.

I'll call it 'The Slimming Mirror' (get it?)
